Want fuller and/or longer hair with minimal styling + upkeep? Want hair extensions without worrying about them showing, or worse- damaging your hair? Then hand-tied extensions are for YOU.
What makes them so special?
There are NO other extension wefts/methods on the market that are as invisible + hassle free as hand-tied extensions. The hair is individually hand-tied, strand by strand, onto a weft to create a seamless track of hair that looks very natural once installed. During the installation process, the weft is sewn onto a beaded track created close to the scalp by soft, cotton string. Once installed, the extension hair will last 9-12 months (if taken care of properly with daily brushing and professional products), and will only need to be maintenanced (tightened) every 5-8 weeks. This extension method is completely painless and the hair will feel + move just like your own hair!
Here’s the steps we recommend taking if you’re interested in trying out hand-tied extensions.
step 1:
Take before photos. This will help document your hair journey, and will help your stylist with determining what is needed to reach your goal.
STEP 2:
Find some photos for inspiration. Pinterest and Instagram have a wealth of photos to choose from, just type in the search bar what you’re looking for, and find at least 2-3 photos to show your stylist for inspiration.
STEP 3:
Be prepared for an investment! Not all hand-tied extensions are created equally, and you 100% get what you pay for with extensions. Most new extension installs will range from $1,000 — $3,000 depending on your starting point, length of the hair, color blending, and how much hair is needed to achieve the look you’re wanting. The stylists experience is also a factor, it’s important to make sure your stylist has been trained under multiple extension methods and has certifications, so that they know how to properly choose the right method of installation for your specific hair type. Experience with installing extensions is super important!
STEP 4:
Once you’ve gone through step 1-3, and you feel ready to make the investment to get the hair of your dreams, the next step is to book an in person consultation. Consultations for extensions are necessary to make sure you achieve a seamless color match with your own hair! This will also provide a perfect opportunity to chat with your stylist about pricing, maintenance, and address any questions or concerns you may have about investing in extensions. Some stylists require a deposit to book your new install, and this is to ensure that you’re serious about your appointment and that the hair your about to purchase won’t go to waste if you are unable to make your appointment. We recommend saving up at least half of your estimated new install price in order to be able to put down a deposit at your consultation, or whenever you decide to book your install appointment.
